It’s fine. I’m fine. Everything’s fine.
Welcome back!
We’re back at the concert.
The band just finished their first set and there’s a lull in the action. Everyone's abandoned the dance floor to beat the rush to the bathroom line.
And you?
You’re still thinking about Craig. (The tall guy we named last week.)
But something’s different now. Not the scene. Not Craig.
You.
You’re no longer spiraling in self-blame (Level 1) or silently fuming at everyone around you (Level 2).
You’ve caught your breath. You’ve zoomed out. You’ve made a choice.
You're thinking:
"Whatever. I’ll find another spot. Not ideal, but better than being annoyed for two hours straight and missing the whole show."
You take a deep breath and you join your friends in the drink line.
That right there? That’s Level 3 energy.
You might not love the situation, but you're choosing to work around it —because you’ve decided that some guy who clearly bought into the latest Axe body spray ad doesn’t get to decide whether or not you enjoy your night.
Level 3 is the level of toleration. Of compromise. Of ignoring the little frustrations to get things done.
Outside the concert venue, Level 3 might look like:
Smiling through small talk with your neighbor who drains your energy—because it feels easier than excusing yourself.
Staying in a job that no longer excites you because “the benefits are decent”.
Saying “it’s fine” when your food order’s wrong—because it's close enough to what you wanted.
This energy is all about managing what is—so you can keep moving.
It’s the classic “it is what it is” vibe, with a dash of optimism. You’re not stuck. You’re not mad. You’re just choosing to deal, so you can move forward.
And that choice? It’s powerful.
Because sometimes, things really aren’t worth the fight.
But if we hang out in Level 3 too long, we can slip into quiet resignation—keeping us settled in places we’ve outgrown. Keeping ourselves small, to keep the peace.
Just like with Levels 1 & 2, this energy isn't good or bad either. It serves a purpose.
There’s no “best” energy level. No gold stars for climbing the energy ladder.
The real power isn’t in the Level itself—it’s in choosing the one that is best for you in the moment.
📌 This week, notice your Level 3 moments:
Would it be useful to lean into this energy more—or less?
When do you tell yourself “it’s fine”… even when it’s really not?
What are you giving too much energy to, rather than settling for good enough?
Remember: Level 3 isn’t the goal. No particular level is.
The magic isn’t in the specific perspective—it’s in the choice.
It’s in knowing that you’re the one shaping your experience. Not Craig.
Remember, you're reacting to the world around you one choice at a time. You get to decide what that looks like. Sometimes that means sitting with sadness. Sometimes, it means letting the little stuff go and finding a lighter way to move forward.
You’ll feel more powerful in your life each time you pause, notice, and choose again.
I’ll check in mid-week with a few Level 3 insights from my own week. Then next week, we’ll dive into Level 4, where the energy starts to shift from managing to connecting.
I’d love to hear what’s coming up for you as you reading about these levels—just hit reply and let me know!
Stay curious,
Missy
