Dogs, nachos, and other very important things...

Fun fact: There's an actual human behind these words.

Hi! 👋 I'm Missy—I’m slightly obsessed with meeting every dog I see and not-so-patiently waiting for my favorite color, springtime green, to make its annual appearance.

Today, I want to learn more about you! I want to get to know you better. Honestly. Why? First, because it’s just who I am—I love people and (according to my family) came out of the womb a social butterfly. Second, the more I understand what energizes you and what keeps you up at night, the more useful these blog posts will be. And finally, because let’s be real—one-way conversations aren’t much fun. When was the last time you met someone new and they didn’t ask you a single question? Ick, right? So I've got questions...

To make this a two-way thing, rather than an interrogation, I’m giving you a peek into my world—what I believe, what lights me up, and why I do what I do. And then, I want to hear from you. Feel free to answer a specific prompt, let me know if anything I share makes you think “Yep, me too!” (or “absolutely not!”), or go rogue and share something totally different.

✨ Why I Coach ✨

Once upon a time (until a few years ago), I was my own worst enemy—like, Olympic-level jerk to myself. From the outside, it looked like I had it all together, but inside, I was constantly beating myself up, questioning every move I made, and putting myself last.

Coaching changed everything. I made so many shifts with my first coach, but the biggest: I’m 1,000 times kinder to myself, and I’m obsessed with helping other women do the same.

Here’s why I’m telling you this: That nagging voice in your head? The one saying you’re not good enough, smart enough, pretty enough, interesting enough...? She’s a liar. You are more than enough, and once you believe that, everything shifts.

So tell me—if that voice wasn’t running the show, what would change for you?

✨ General Life Philosophy ✨

Here’s a principle I learned in coaching school that completely changed how I see the highs and lows of life:

"Life is a perfect adventure; a game that cannot be won or lost, only played."

Trust me, I know some days feel far from perfect (I’m in the middle of a very unperfect few months myself). But the more I sit with this idea, the more I believe—no one ever really wins or loses because we’re all playing different games, by different rules. So why not make up our own?

So what if you accepted that everyone else's rules are always changing—and you're playing a game that can't be won? What if you gave yourself permission to play by your rules—to define success, joy, and meaning in a way that actually feels right for you? What’s the first thing that would change?

✨ What Fuels Me ✨

Quiet mornings, strong coffee, any form of movement that doesn’t involve biking (seriously, you’ve never seen someone more awkward on a bike! I am far more natural on a horse trying to buck me off than casually pedaling down the street on wheels), soft lighting, animal cuddles, belly laughs with my husband, vegan nachos (I swear they’re delicious), and a bedtime that rivals most toddlers’.

I know vegan nachos aren’t for everyone, but feeling good in your daily life should be. What fuels you? What sets you up for more energy, more ease, and less stress?

✨ Where I Call Home ✨

I live in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western NC. Moving here from central New York almost eight years ago was one of the hardest (and best) decisions I’ve ever made. Turns out, the life you actually want? It’s usually waiting for you just outside your comfort zone.

I love sharing tips about the area—I may have missed my calling as a tour guide. If you ever think about coming to Asheville, let me know! I’ll send you recommendations.

Where are you in the world, and what’s your go-to recommendation for someone visiting your area?

✨ Now It’s Your Turn ✨

Alright, I’ve told you a bit about who I am and what I believe. Now I’d love to hear from you! What’s something that resonated—or didn’t? What’s a rule you’ve ditched, a move you’ve made, or a change you’re thinking about?

Drop a comment below or reach out to me at missy@missyfrischcoaching.com—I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Always interested,

Missy

P.S. This one was a bit longer than usual—consider it an extra-long hug, but in blog form. Thanks for sticking around! (Yes, I'm a hugger!)
