Feeling Scattered? Try This Game-Changer!

Do you often feel scattered like a squirrel on espresso? I totally get it. One minute we’re tackling a task, the next we’re chasing another idea. It’s exhausting, and nothing gets checked off the to-do list.

For me, it looks like this: I sit down to write a blog post, come up with a webinar idea and start pondering titles for it. Then I get curious about the latest research on motivation and head to Psychology Today, decide Tot looks adorable and should make an appearance on Instagram, and an hour later, I return to an unwritten email. Sigh.

But then I discovered this game-changer...

I created a simple bucket system to organize my thoughts and tasks, and it’s helped me stay focused, calm, and productive week-to-week.

Here's how you can do it too:

Step 1: Identify the broad categories of tasks/ideas that keep bouncing around in your head and pulling you in different directions.
Step 2: Create 4 "buckets" for these categories.
Step 3: Assign each bucket to a week of the month.
Step 4: Focus on one bucket per week. New ideas distracting you? Toss them in the right bucket and keep going! It’s easier to let them go when you have a plan to revisit them later.

Here’s how my buckets look:

Admin: Finances, SEO, planning
Marketing: Content creation, email drafting
Education: A whole week to go down all the learning rabbit holes my heart desires.
Projects: Planning webinars, improving client experiences, creating resources for you.

Feeling overwhelmed? Try this system and see how it works for you!

What are your 4 buckets? Email me at missy@missyfrischcoaching.com and let me know—I’d love to hear your ideas!

Happy organizing,

Missy

P.S. Bonus Tip: Have a tendency to scatter ideas everywhere? Sticky notes, an email to yourself, your notes app, random notebooks, digital files... Decide on ONE spot to store all your ideas and to-dos. I’m using a Google Sheet, and it’s so nice having a designated home for all the ideas that come my way. Try it out! Seriously. Your brain will thank you!
